Your adventure begins as you depart on your overnight transatlantic flight.
Arrive in historic Paris. This evening, meet your fellow travelers and learn about the exciting days ahead, then relax over a tasty Italian dinner. (D)
Start your day with a tour of Paris, the world- famous City of Light! Take in the sights as your motor coach ventures past Bercy, home to France’s Finance Ministry and Bercy Village, an entertainment district with shops and restaurants in former wine warehouses. You’ll also see the F. Mitterrand National Library, the Bastille, and the Marais, a fashion district filled with boutiques, galleries, and bars. View the Latin Quarter, chic St. Germain, and the iconic Louvre Pyramid, as well as the Opéra Garnier, the Champs-Elysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. Plus, no trip to Paris would be complete without seeing Trocadéro, and the famous Eiffel Tower. Enjoy admission to Fragonard, and pass by Place Vendôme, and the Place de la Concorde. (B)
Today, you’ll leave Paris and head to Dijon, with some free time to have lunch on your own. Enjoy an included city tour of Dijon before proceeding to Lyon for the night, where your dinner at the hotel is included. (D)
Enjoy a full-day guided tour of Lyon. The old town “Vieux Lyon” features Renaissance houses and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city is known for its high quality silk products and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, which towers over the city. (B)
Leave for Avignon today, and enjoy lunch on your own in your free time. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Avignon. Ringed by incredibly preserved 800 year old stone ramparts, Avignon’s turn as the seat of papal power bestowed upon the city a treasury of magnificent art and architecture. The ramparts were erected to keep the plague and invaders out during the turbulent Middle Ages. (B)
Depart from Avignon and head to sunny Nice. This beachside getaway is the cultural capital of the French Riviera and is known for its azure waters, golden beaches and its quaint old town. Enjoy a guided tour of the resort town’s attractions, and have lunch on your own before returning to Avignon for dinner(included) at your hotel. (D)
Today, you’ll leave Avignon for Carcassonne, a medieval fortified town set amid rugged hills. You’ll have some time for lunch on your own, and then proceed to Bordeaux for the evening. (B)
Go on a fully-guided city tour of Bordeaux today, and later, enjoy a wine tasting session at Saint-Émilion. (B)
Depart from Bordeaux to Loire Valley and visit Château de Chambord (entrance included). The largest château in Loire Valley, it has a distinctive Renassaince style architecture, and was built as a hunting lodge in the 1500s. You’ll have some free time for lunch on your own. Continue on to Paris and enjoy a farewell dinner (included) at the hotel. (D)
Enjoy your final day in Paris on your own. Spend the day relaxing or stroll the cobblestoned streets and savor a meal at a Parisian cafe. (B)
