September in Alaska is the tail end of summer, and the Denali National Park at this time is a patchwork of fiery crimson, gold and amber. If you’re visiting in May, you’ll see lush green forests against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Both May and September are relatively crowd-free with cooler temperatures and longer days.
