Have You Considered?
Be prepared for “stacked” or “parallel” docking of river cruise ships. During busy periods, up to three ships may dock side-by-side, which means your cabin window might face another vessel while in port. You may need to walk through other cruise ships to reach the shore, so take note of your ship’s position before departing. Also, if you stay aboard during a port stop, don’t be alarmed if the ship relocates to a different berth before other guests return—you haven’t been kidnapped!

The Great Pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, these massive structures were built around 2500 BCE as tombs for pharaohs. The complex consists of three main pyramids – Khufu (Great Pyramid), Khafre, and Menkaure – each built with incredible mathematical precision. The Great Pyramid was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years, standing at 481 feet high.
A Tip To Prep For Your Trip
Large cities like Cairo and Luxor are high levels of traffic and horn honking that may be overwhelming to those used to it. There are not traffic lanes or crosswalks, so as a pedestrian, always remain alert and aware of your surroundings. Drivers often do not follow traffic rules, and scooters and motor bikes may even come on to the sidewalks to avoid traffic jams. When crossing the street, there often will not be crosswalks. Once you step out into the street – do not stop or turn back. Walk at a brisk pace in a straight line. You can also hold you hand up and out for greater visibility. Be prepared for scooters and motorbikes to continue to flow around you as you cross.
