Obtaining Your Passport ...

parts of getting ready for your vacation is making sure you have all
your important documents in order. In particular, passports have
become something that almost every traveler needs to worry about, so
we want to help alleviate your worries. Below is a list of things you
will need, followed by the steps to take in order to get a passport:
What you need:

Passport application forms

Proof of US citizenship (or a letter of no
record if there is no official record for your birth)

Picture ID as proof of identity

2 photographs (2x2 taken in the last 6 months)

What to do:

Obtain and fill out passport application
documents----forms can be obtained at a US post office or downloaded
online

Gather proof of US Citizenship---acceptable
documents include:

Certified birth certificate

Records of birth abroad

Naturalization certificate

Gather proof of identity---acceptable
documents include:

Previous passport

Current and valid drivers license/govt

Get 2 photos taken---these can be taken at the
post office and many travel companies.

Make sure you know your social security number

Find out what the passport fees will be for
your situation---you can look them up online, and be aware that the
dollar amounts are always changing

Get your passport---find the passport office
location nearest you, and have your departure date ready. Be aware
that it might take anywhere from 2 weeks-2 months until you receive
your passport
